The 2022 Women in Trucking Accelerate! Conference and Expo held in Dallas, TX, brought attendees opportunities for education in the workforce, professional development, and team building. With a 1,700+ record high attendance, six team members from our Managed
Transportation, Marketing, and Driver Recruiting teams represented Ruan!
Ruan has been a proud member of the Women in Trucking association since 2017. This non-profit organization helps encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry and looks to minimize obstacles faced by women. Ruan is proud to say that 12% of our drivers identify as female, compared to the national average of 10%, and we are excited to see that number grow.
Women who attended this year’s event participated in workshops on organizational leadership, increasing confidence in their careers, driver health and safety, and more. Through these workshops, WIT hopes to educate women on how they can advance the transportation industry to be a more inclusive environment for all.
While there have been major strides in gender inclusivity in the transportation industry, there is still more to be done. Ruan remains committed to cultivating a workplace where we listen, educate, and empower a diverse team of transportation and logistics professionals to truly stay Ahead of the Curve.
