Q: Tell us a little about your career path and background.
I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While in school, I gained experience working with HR teams in the insurance and healthcare industries. I joined Ruan’s Driver Recruiting team in May 2024 as a Recruiting Coordinator and have since been promoted to Recruiter. During my time at Ruan, I’ve learned so much about the operations we support and the transportation and logistics industry.
Q: What do you enjoy most about recruiting for Ruan?
I enjoy finding the best match between our drivers and operations. Each day is different and there’s always something new to learn. The operations and driver recruiting team truly demonstrate what it’s like to work as a team.
Q: What types of positions are you currently recruiting for?
I specifically recruit drivers to transport gas and chemical, grocery, and bakery products for our dedicated customers. Ruan makes sure to offer opportunities for all types of drivers—we have positions available for local work and options to be over the road. We also work with different equipment and customers, providing drivers with various experiences.
Q: What excites you about recruiting for Ruan?
It’s exciting to talk to the hundreds of drivers that call into our recruiting hotline each week and learn about what they’re looking for in their next position. Our recruiting team makes sure we’re finding the best fit for our drivers. Plus, we get the opportunity to develop partnerships with people inside and outside the organization. We love sharing our benefits and Safety Focus and People First Guiding Principles.
Q: What question are you most frequently asked by prospective drivers and technicians?
A frequently asked question is whether we offer career development opportunities. We provide many opportunities across the various roles and accounts we operate in 48 U.S. states. Our goal is to make sure our drivers thrive and feel valued in their roles. We also have great recognition programs to celebrate drivers who exemplify Ruan’s Guiding Principles.
Q: What would you tell someone who is on the fence about applying to be a driver or technician at Ruan?
There’s no harm in putting in an application and calling our recruiting hotline! Our team is always ready to guide our drivers into the next part of their career.
