National Technician Appreciation Week, celebrated October 2-8, is an opportunity to recognize our technicians for their critical role in keeping our trucks moving and our drivers safe. As we celebrate National Technician Appreciation Week, we are proud to congratulate several Ruan technicians who competed at the 2022 Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) SuperTech Competition held in Cleveland, OH, last week.
The TMC SuperTech Competition is a two-day event. On day one, 137 technicians took the Heavy Duty Written Exam. Once completed, all qualifying technicians move on to the Hands-on Skills challenge on day two. For the Hands-on Skills portion, competitors demonstrate their skills and expertise in a variety of maintenance tasks in one of three tracks: Heavy Duty, Trailer Technician, or Light and Medium Duty. Once completed, an awards ceremony took place to recognize all the competitors’ hard work at this year’s competition.
This year, our Ruan technicians placed higher than we have in any other competition. “Out technicians did a fantastic job overall, and it was a huge honor to have multiple technicians in the group that advanced to the Hands-on Skills portion of the competition,” said Maintenance Operations Manager Ben Steines.
Congratulations to our participants in the heavy duty track!
