In early December, Ruan had an opportunity to provide transportation services to help a local nonprofit receive a furniture donation, and our teams proudly made it happen. In May, the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines asked if Ruan would be willing to sponsor transportation for more than $100,000 worth of office furniture. The furniture had been donated by Dotdash Meredith in the financial district in New York City to the C3 Center, a new nonprofit located in Des Moines, IA. The C3 Center was designed as a hub for the non-profit community in Greater Des Moines as a place for connection, collaboration, and community.
“Thanks to partners like Ruan, we are already seeing this mission come to life. We are grateful to the Ruan team for literally connecting the dots for us by transporting a donation of office furniture from the East Coast to Greater Des Moines as we add the C3 Center to the Community Foundation’s home,” said Karla Jones-Weber, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. “We can’t wait to welcome the community into the C3 Center and celebrate all who helped make it possible. We couldn’t have done this without Ruan’s generosity.”
Thank you to several operations team members who worked hard to coordinate the freight planning and execution, and to our truck drivers Alton Hall and Bryan Morgan for getting the mission accomplished.
“My team and I were excited for the opportunity to organize transportation for the furniture donation to help such a wonderful organization, especially during the holiday season,” said Ruan’s Dedicated Operations Leader Dakota Eischeid.
