Happy Women’s History Month! As our country celebrates and recognizes the many contributions of women in our communities and workplaces, we are spotlighting some of the amazing women at Ruan! Meet Lisa Keaton, a truck driver in Lawrenceville, GA, hauling for Publix Super Markets.
Q: Tell us a little about your career path and background.
I began my career as an over-the-road professional commercial truck driver in 2008. My love for helping others moved me to a position of mentor and safety instructor at a trucking academy. A little over three years ago, I found my home here at Ruan.
Q: What do you like about working for Ruan?
The family environment, respect, and way Ruan values their drivers are just a few of the reasons I call this place home.
Q: What advice would you share with those considering joining the trucking industry?
I encourage anyone who is looking for more than just job security and a source of income to join our family here at Ruan because this is where my road to success began!
Q: In what ways are you involved in your community?
One of our family holiday traditions is to gather clothes and food to donate to our local Goodwill and neighborhood food bank. Because of this, I was excited to be part of Publix Disaster Relief Donation that hauled loads to Texas after an ice storm swept across the state. Several of us drivers started as coworkers and returned as best friends and family members.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love spending time with my family.
