In April, Ruan Transportation Management Systems and Chairman John Ruan III were honored with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s (ESGR’s) Patriot Award. The ESGR is a Department of Defense agency promoting cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and their National Guard and Reserve employees, and the Patriot Award honors supervisors for their superior support of Guard and Reserve employees.
“Ruan has long been a very proud supporter of our Armed Forces, and some of our most talented and capable people served in our military,” said President and CEO Steve Chapman.
Ruan was nominated for the award by Meridian, ID, Terminal Manager Michael Grijalva, who is currently deployed in the Middle East as a U.S. Marine Corps Major.
“I would like to express our sincere gratitude for Michael’s nomination and our pride in the sacrifices he and other military personnel have made on behalf of our country,” Chapman said. “Knowing Michael is currently deployed, we not only want to share our appreciation, but also our prayers for his safe return to family, friends and all of us. We know he is doing his job with dignity, honor and professionalism.”
