The editors of Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) have named Ruan Transportation Management Systems an HDT Top Green Fleet for 2025, honoring its industry leadership in sustainability. This year’s recognition marks the seventh time Ruan has made the list since the award began in 2013.
“Receiving this award is a proud moment for our team and a testament to our mission of equipping our professional drivers with the safest, most fuel-efficient, and technologically advanced equipment,” said Ruan’s Vice President of Procurement and Asset Management, Brad Gehring. “Each vehicle is purpose-built for its operation, all while maintaining cost efficiency.”
Ruan continues demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship through various innovative practices. The dedicated logistics provider has implemented fuel-efficient technologies across its fleet, including adopting aerodynamic equipment, idle-reduction strategies, and advanced telematics to monitor and improve driving behaviors. Ruan also actively tests alternative fuels and electric vehicle options while optimizing routing and load efficiency to reduce emissions. Additionally, the company’s proprietary Megasafe Safety Program and strategic partnerships contribute to its ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable and responsible transportation network.
Each year, Heavy Duty Trucking highlights fleets' work in fuel efficiency, freight efficiency, emissions reduction, alternative fuel and powertrain adoption, environmentally friendly practices, and other sustainability initiatives.
“One of the things that struck us about our winners this year is that despite the current changes and uncertainty in the regulatory environment, these trucking fleets are pursuing sustainability because they believe it’s good for business and it’s the right thing to do,” explained HDT Editor and Associate Publisher Deborah Lockridge. HDT’s Top Green Fleets are highlighted in the March/April print issue of Heavy Duty Trucking.
