Idaho State Liquor Division Selects Ruan as Dedicated Logistics Partner

May 28, 2024

Ruan, a premier provider of Integrated Supply Chain Solutions, is proud to announce a new partnership with the Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) for dedicated contract transportation.

The Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) issued an RFP in 2023 to identify a logistics partner to provide efficient and reliable transportation services for the distribution of liquor products across the state of Idaho. The partnership would require a provider with a strong track record in logistics, real-time shipment visibility, and the ability to handle multi-stop deliveries. The RFP process involved conducting a comprehensive evaluation of potential partners based on criteria such as their experience in the industry, track record of successful logistics operations, ability to meet the Division’s distribution needs, cost-effectiveness, safety, and customer service capabilities. The Division issued an invitation to negotiate (ITN) to solicit bids from interested logistics companies, reviewed and compared proposals, conducted interviews, held site visits with potential partners, and ultimately selected Ruan as the partner that best met the requirements and aligned with ISLD’s goals for efficient and effective distribution of liquor products.

“Ruan is excited to partner with ISLD to provide exceptional distribution service across the state of Idaho,” said Jason Dobbs, Vice President, Integrated Solutions Sales at Ruan. “This will be our third contract with a state that is a member of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, thus adding even more experience to Ruan’s alcoholic beverage distribution portfolio. Through working with the great people at ISLD, we are confident our goals are aligned, and we look forward to exceeding expectations as we have with Iowa and Mississippi.”

The ISLD is a member of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) and administers the importation, distribution, and sale of distilled spirits across the state of Idaho. The revenue that benefits all Idahoans is generated from the sale of liquor in state operated retail stores, contract retail stores, and licensees in the Idaho hospitality industry. Net funds from operations distributed to Idaho cities, counties, community colleges, substance abuse treatment, and general government were over $121 million in FY2023.

“The Idaho State Liquor Division is grateful there were four highly qualified respondents to our 2023 ITN.  It was a very competitive solicitation. Ruan’s unique and comprehensive response made them Idaho’s choice for the future,” said ISLD Director Jeff Anderson.

Ruan’s contract with ISLD established a July 1, 2024, start date. It will include deliveries to over 175 locations. Ruan will have responsibility for the management of the fleet and professional truck drivers, including recruiting, training and development, providing state-of-the-art technology, complying with all regulatory and safety requirements, and implementing an equipment and maintenance strategy to keep ISLD’s operation running efficiently and safely.
